Mrs. Burrowes is a nationally recognized social sector leader and strategic thinker who has shaped decision-making at the executive level of social, public and private sector entities for more than 30 years. She received an Order of Distinction in 2017 for Leadership in the areas of community development, youth empowerment, and the development of comprehensive services for those afflicted with addictive disorders. Mrs. Burrowes served as Executive Director of RISE Life from 1991 – 2022, when she retired. Mrs. Burrowes is Chairman of the board and holds an MSc in Health Sciences and a BA in Psychology.

Dr. Hayle joined the RISE board of directors on February 20, 2020. Dr Hayle conducts research in Social Policy, Qualitative Social Research and Macroeconomics linked to tourism, sustainable development and workforce development. She is also a management consultant.

Mr. Shawn McGregor has been a member of the RISE board since April 2015, when he joined as a youth representative. He served as a Youth Ambassador to CARICOM between 2002 and 2005. Mr. McGregor holds Certification in Project Management from the University of New Orleans as well as a diploma in Computer Studies and Management. He studied Spanish at the University of Granma, in Cuba. Mr McGregor has been serving as RISE’s Programme Manager since 2008.

Ms. Kelly Akin was appointed to the RISE board of directors in September 2017. She is an Attorney-at-Law with DunnCox, in the Corporate and Commercial Department. Ms Akin obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the West Indies and her Legal Education Certificate from Norman Manley Law School.

Ashleigh Elliott has been a member of the RISE board since February 17, 2022. Ms Elliott holds a Master of Science in Corporate Finance from the University of the West Indies, Mona, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Technology, Jamaica. She is a senior Securities Trader and Analyst by profession.

Board Member

Colinnette Wilson, a Human Resource Management specialist, joined the RISE board on February 17, 2022. Ms Wilson holds qualifications in: Management Studies (BSc.) from the University of the West Indies, Mona; Law from the University of London (LLB); and Management Information Systems (MSc) from the University of the West Indies, Mona. She is also a certified Project Management Professional.

Mrs. Nadine Chambers Goss assumed the post of Executive Director on February 1, 2022. She is a trained adult educator with formal training in Project Management for Development Professionals and in Leadership and Governance for NGOs. Nadine holds degrees from the University of the West Indies, Mona and the University of Technology, Jamaica. These include a BA in English (honours), a BSc in Computer and Management Studies and an MSc in Workforce Education and Development.
